Frequently asked questions

Will I hear the alert if the tab is in the background?

In most browsers, yes. The audio alert plays when the countdown reaches zero, though keeping the tab open in the background is required.

Can I use it as a kitchen timer?

Yes, it is a common replacement for a kitchen timer: set your minutes, press start, and you get an audible alarm even if you leave the room.

Does it repeat automatically?

The countdown runs once and alerts at zero. If you need repeating work/break cycles, the Pomodoro tool on this site handles intervals automatically.
